Well, we made it home.
Travel day was a challenge, but we've been lucky the last couple years, so......
We left the resort @ 10:15.....for a 1:40 flight---got checked in, through security (had to give up my aloe!!) and ate at our usual spot, Bubba Gump.
Boarded on time (that takes an hour and we were one of the first)......then tried to take off, but one engine wouldn't start. Had to pull back in, pull a mechanic, who then had to go get a "special tool" to manually start Engine 2. But I guess it worked and we were off, just about 70 minutes late.
Between RLS and edema, the trip was a physical challenge and generally uncomfortable, for my legs. )-:
We were about the same 70 minutes late getting into Minneapolis. Finally got through customs, immigration, etc. and Jord was waiting. We met the Panzer crew for a wonderful meal at Bucca de Peppo. Then back to the airport....boarded on time and home at the hour of 11:00.
Of course, no one can go right to bed after that, so it was about 12:30 before we hit the sack....
I laid down this afternoon and slept for another hour and a half......I never nap for more than 20-30 minutes....holy buckets, I was tired.
And tonight we get to set clocks forward....argh!!
Reflection:
This was a great trip, I think one of our best. The weather was awesome, with just one day where it rained off and on and then again, the day before we left. Other than that, it was 80-85 and just a gentle breeze.
We had a great trip to Selvatica for ziplining. and a nice trip to Xcaret. Other than that, it was pure relaxation.....
Hope we can duplicate that next. year!

Last Day
Well, today was our last full day here....sigh.
Took a short beach walk and then just sat & read until we decided to make a quick trip to the flea market.
Took a picture of our housekeeper, Josephina, primarily for Jeny....so she can know we are still being taken care of, even though we miss Gabriela.
Then we ran to the Outlet store for a few extra things. When we entered, we saw the Blue Fish Spa....couldn't resist....so.......
Then we went next door for lunch and it started to rain.....really rain!!
But we got served first......drinks on top, iced tea with a Corona on top.
Then we ran back to the resort in the rain.....and came back soaked. Then, though resisting, we began packing up. Sigh......
Sat on the deck and listened to the rain.

Day 11
Took the plunge and made the trip to Xcaret. Everyone has so highly recommended it. It was nice and had a lot of variety, ranging from saving animals to swimming down an underground river. We chose not to participate in the water sports today. But we saw a lot of history and lots of creatures.
It was highly recommended that we stay for the evening show, but we were both so worn out that we decided to take the early bus home. We were glad because I don't think we could have tolerated the crowds, waiting for buses at 9:00 (home at 11:00). We did break down and buy the video.
Overall a good experience, but most we had seen in other places be it other ruins (Tulum, Chichen Itza) or Sea World, etc.
Did take over 100 pictures, so will have to prioritize. Can't possibly load them all!

This was hilarious. The guide walked with a sign to stay out of the way while she rang a bell. the flamingos just followed!
Shortly after this, Dale's phone rang!!...Couldn't believe it, but it was Jeremy....good to hear your voice!

Day 10
Seriously?? Day 10??.....I cannot believe it!
Another lazy day here....don't think I can get tired of saying that!
Got up very early and took a (before) sunrise walk......you will see a series of sequential pictures of the sunrise....each taken about 2-3 minutes after the other....absolutely stunning!
Sat on the beach until I fixed Dale pancakes again....then while I read down on the beach, he got his massage.
Spoke with Diane (from Iowa/Arizona). She states once again that they probably will not come next year and will let us know. Everyone is talking about the all inclusive for renters next year....if you rent from an owner, you have a choice.
Later in the afternoon, I did (what I anticipate as) the last load of laundry. Needed a clean suit to go to Xcaret tomorrow.
Fixed Chinese for supper and was so tired (and I can't figure that out!), that I went to bed at 8:00---seriously in bed and near asleep by 8:00. Of course, that now means at 10:30, I'm up for the hour and will then sleep until about 2:00-3:00. I'll be one tired girl I get up that early for such a long day tomorrow. So we need to say a prayer.
